Who can apply for website design assistance?
Are there any catches? Not really. You simply need to have an annual turnover of less than $50 million. There’s also an annual cap of $100,000 that will apply to eligible technology expenditure. The initiative will be in place until 30 June 2023.
It’s estimated that around 3.6 million businesses can take advantage of the initiative.
In Josh Frydenberg’s budget speech, the treasurer said that the scheme will encourage businesses that embrace new technologies and the digital revolution.
“From tonight, every hundred dollars these businesses spend on digital technologies like cloud computing, e-invoicing, cybersecurity and web design will see them get a $120 tax deduction,” Mr Frydenberg said.
